After this has set in for a few minutes, I guess I'm not so baffled that she did it (hard to be surprised by anything anymore), but the fact that she not only was dumb enough to steal the supplies from her place of employment, bring the kid into her place of employment each time, but she actually dumb enough to keep doing it. If you want your kid dead, for gods sake just do it. If you want to be an asshole about things, don't let the kid suffer.
And as always, remember: it's the video games fault.
